training and certifications

When I graduated chiropractic school, I already had clinical experience with perinatal support and got Webster certified by the ICPA in 2016. The great thing about Webster technique is that you can apply it to anyone with walking ability, not just pregnant patients. It’s a great assessment for pelvic and sacral function and I utilize it on just near everyone that I see.

With perinatal support, this naturally flowed into pediatric care. I obtained some pediatric training with the ICPA diplomate program but felt that I needed to find more evidence-based training elsewhere, so the ICPA diplomate was never completed.

I also have multiple kinesiotaping certifications (including pediatric), instrument assisted soft tissue certification. and cupping certification.

Future training

While I have a decade of chiropractic experience with pregnancy and children, I am looking to facilitate chiropractic with mental health support.

I plan to engage with trauma informed continuing education as well with other trauma informed practitioners in our area. I will also be learning new adjustment techniques that are better suited for increased physical sensitivity and geared towards improving mental health.

This is one of many reasons I have adapted to a slower lifestyle for myself. I have experienced the “hustle culture” and firmly believe our bodies are not meant to endure that kind of stress, especially long term.

The current dynamic of the world and late-stage capitalism is meant to put you into duress so that it forces you to agree to unfavorable lifestyle practices. We can start to change this by focusing on our mental and physical health and being strong in our beliefs for what works for our wellbeing.

Your body is under constant strain and pressure from daily stressors that builds up slowly over time so you don’t always notice dysfunction beginning.

My job as a chiropractor is to awaken your body and you remember what it feels like to feel GOOD and FUNCTIONAL.

YOU are important, and the world is better with you in it.
